How do you even begin to talk about a day like this, to stay sane? How do you maintain some sort of routine without constantly checking for updates on what’s happening, where it’s happening, and if there’s any new information about the kidnapped and murdered?

Most of the time, we don’t leave the house, which drives everyone crazy. Every day, my sister, her husband, and their children come to sleep here because we have a shelter. Imagine eight people and a baby in a four-room apartment. Yesterday, I fought with my mother, but today we made up. I told her I love her… for some reason, we don’t say it enough to those close to us.

And all of this seems like trivial problems compared to what others have experienced in this war: the houses that were burned, the families that were murdered… this is our reality here. I was getting ready to visit one of my friends and stay with him for a few days when I saw a post published by another friend, who was eulogizing Nevo, murdered at the party.

Since last Shabbat, we’ve been hoping he somehow survived, that he was taken prisoner, setting aside doubts about whether he was alive, and choosing to believe that he was. But today, they identified his body, and we received the heartbreaking news. Since then, tears haven’t stopped.

I went to Nevo’s funeral in the South. I arrived late and found out that they were only gathered for the eulogies, and the actual funeral was restricted to immediate family. This was because he lived in Kibbutz Sa’ad, near Gaza, which is currently a closed military zone. I met some friends there, some in uniform, called up for the reserves. Words failed us, and only tears spoke. We couldn’t even give our friend a proper burial…

So I am sad, I am in pain. And I just wonder, when will this nightmare end? How do we begin to heal the wounds that have ripped open our hearts, bleeding non-stop since last Saturday?

10:09 PM

OK, I’ve managed to calm down a bit, and we must continue to share and spread the truth. Thank you for the kind words sent privately; they truly warm my heart. So, here are some updates on how the day unfolded…

10:12 PM

Joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet spokespersons:
The IDF and Shin Bet have successfully eliminated Bilal al-Kedra, the commander of the Nakhaba force in the South Khan Yunis battalion of Hamas. He was responsible for the deadly raid in Kibbutzim Nirim and Nir Oz, as part of the extensive attacks on senior officials and military infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

Under the intelligence guidance of Shin Bet, IDF warplanes targeted and killed Bilal al-Kedra last night in the Gaza Strip. Al-Kedra was a key figure in the Hamas terrorist organization and orchestrated the lethal raid on Kibbutz Nirim and Nir Oz. The operation also resulted in the elimination of other operatives from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Throughout the night, the IDF struck over a hundred military targets in the neighborhoods of Zeytun, Khan Yunis, and West Jablia. These targets included Hamas headquarters and military compounds, dozens of launchers, anti-tank positions, and observation posts. The IDF also destroyed military headquarters of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.

Furthermore, the IDF targeted numerous terrorist infrastructures belonging to Hamas’ security mechanisms. These are integral to Hamas’ governance system, both in routine and emergency situations. Many individuals associated with these infrastructures were actively involved in combat against the IDF.

Enclosed is footage from the assassination of Bilal al-Kedra, the commander of the Nakhaba force in the South Khan Yunis battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization.
IDF warplanes, under the intelligence guidance of the Shin Bet, killed last night in the Gaza Strip Bilal al-Kedra, commander of the Nakhaba force, who was responsible for the murderous raid on Kibbutz Nirim and Nir Oz.
The video is the bombing of his house with him inside it.

10:15 PM

This is how many alarms were today, each one is because of rocket fire ya? Not one rocket but many each time.

And if you just joined:
Pay attention to the video I sent,
A. In each line it’s written when it happened, twenty minutes ago or an hour or two hours or more.
B. In the small brackets, it’s written how much time people have to reach a protected space, it ranges from 15 seconds to a minute…

10:21 PM

The US State Department: As of this moment, we know of 29 American citizens who were killed in the terrorist attack by Hamas. There are 15 missing American citizens (apparently kidnapped in Gaza – Israel).

And it’s not just Americans as well, in fact, see for yourself from which country People either got murdered or kidnapped by Hamas.

10:34 PM

I just read on the Gaza network a message supporting Hamas claiming it’s the People Movement,

I remind you, it’s the same people who trying to go down south to avoid the bombings but Hamas blocking their roads because it needs them to protect its shooting places, etc.

“Hamas is working to liberate the land for the return of our Palestinian people who were displaced from their homes in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and other countries.” – this is from the original msg and

this is how Hamas is working to liberate the land….

it’s not some military base, it’s just a kibbutz (small village) full of civilians, this is from the terrorists’ body camera.

Just imagine going for a morning run, and someone starts shooting at you, don’t forget the RPG at the end.

10:50 PM

Do you see the green headband?

This was taken tonight in the city of Nablus, at a demonstration
of support for Hamas.
Remember what the businessman said there in the video
we saw about this headband?

If not, here is a short clip from the video to refresh your memory.

The next video, sourced from the body camera of a Hamas terrorist, shows exactly what they came here to do, kill and kill some more.

There are no words. And if you’re wondering why the car slowed down, it’s because here in Israel, it’s common to stop to help if you see someone lying on the road or if there’s an accident.

Furthermore, some of the terrorists were deliberately disguised as IDF soldiers, so the vehicle slowed down as it approached them, only realizing too late that they were terrorists…

11:08 PM

This is only part of the ammunition Hamas brought with them on October 7th, they came ready to destroy, they came ready to murder, and as much as possible.

11:15 PM

Remember the video with all the alarms I sent a few minutes ago? to show you how many alarms there were today.

So let’s see how many missiles each alarm is.
Hamas has just released a video demonstrating that a single Red Alert corresponds to an onslaught of 45-50 rockets, or potentially even more.

11:25 PM

A document discovered in a house in Kibbutz Bari sheds light on the terrorists’ plot for murder and kidnapping:
The document lists phrases in Arabic alongside their pronunciations in Hebrew. Some of the sentences include:
‘I will kill you’
‘Take off your pants’
‘You are a prisoner’
‘Where is the man in charge of the kibbutz?’
‘We have hostages’
‘We will kill hostages’
‘How to drive a tank’
‘Where’s the car key?’
‘Men here, women here’
‘I will kill you’
This document was found in the home of Judith and Shmulik Weiss. Their medical center’s door was riddled with bullets, and they have been missing since the attack

11:41 PM

The obituary of Amit Livni, the widow of the late Captain Yuval Livni who fell in the war:

My Jubilee, Everyone is writing eulogies about you on social media, and I still can’t grasp why. They write so beautifully, add pictures with your beautiful eyes, and you look so alive. How, then, did you die?

For 13 years, I’ve been ‘Juveli’s partner,’ almost half my life. We talked about how we’d soon have lived more years together than apart. I longed for this milestone. My Jubilee, you were the best person—always the first to help or lend a listening ear. The king of optimism, even in the hardest times, you gave perspective to life’s meaning. You always explained everything at eye level, seemingly never knowing anger, hatred, or jealousy. Everything you did was with a whole heart. Sometimes it was even frustrating—why didn’t anything bother you?

You were the world’s best father, and I told you so many times. Our John John was so lucky. And you were the best partner, always understanding me and never causing drama. Recently, you said we should make an agreement: if one feels only 20% one day, the other would make up the 80%. ‘And what if we both become 10%?’ I asked. ‘Then we’ll stop everything and talk until we both reach at least 50%-50%,’ you answered. You were everything to me, and everyone knew it.

Everywhere I went, I talked about you. My trainees, the soldiers, friends from my time in Paris—everyone felt they knew you. ‘As Yuveli once told me’ was how I began every lesson. It sounds cliché, but you truly made me a better person. Our story never had an easy path. Our wedding was postponed due to the coronavirus, then again because of ‘Guardian of the Walls.’ Gungon was born by emergency cesarean, and his circumcision was small because of the virus. But the peak was two months ago.

I thought that was our hardest time, going through a stillbirth. And I say ‘we’ because, though I endured it physically, you carried that pregnancy too. You longed so much for our boy. During the birth, you saved my life by alerting the nurse when I lost a lot of blood.

You were my guardian angel. Thanks to you, I’m alive. And now you’re gone. It was so like you to be the first to pack, even though you didn’t want to go. You always put everyone else before yourself.

I still don’t know the full story of what happened, but rumors say your actions prevented much unnecessary bloodshed. I didn’t want you to be everyone’s hero; I wanted you to be my hero, Jonathan’s hero. Now you belong to everyone.

I love you more than words can ever express.

11:55 PM

12:08 AM

The IDF has urged residents of northern Gaza to evacuate to avoid harm. While most civilians in Gaza want to evacuate, Hamas is preventing them from doing so. Hamas uses them as human shields, wanting them to die for propaganda purposes. Hamas shows no regard for their well-being.

Hamas is a terrorist organization that commits war crimes against the State of Israel and also harms Palestinian residents. The responsibility for every Palestinian citizen’s death lies solely with Hamas.

12:14 AM

And sometimes, there are also such beautiful moments:

The CEO of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital shared in the morning meeting that last night at ten o’clock, the hospital director called him with a problem: most of the hospital’s cleaners had not arrived on Saturday, and an urgent solution was needed.

Remarkably, at 6 in the morning, 150 youths from the Bnei Akiva youth movement arrived and began cleaning non-stop. The CEO commented: ‘I have been in hospitals for many years, and I have never experienced such a pleasant smell anywhere, akin to that of a hotel.’

It was truly heartwarming because cleaning is not a task that people typically rush to volunteer for, and yet here we had 150 teenagers show up overnight, ready to help.

12:21 AM

This is from last night, this is what a rocket barrage looks like on Ashkelon, from the Israeli side.
It’s no different from tonight.

12:47 AM

It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Nadav Amikam, the esteemed wood arts teacher at the Yehiel school in Betel Shahar.

Nadav was in the emergency classes of Kfar Gaza and tragically fell on October 7th while defending his kibbutz and our country. He was not just a skilled carver and wood artist; he was a respected teacher, a person with a vast soul, and someone dearly loved by many.

Only God knows the count of spoons, bowls, and beautiful boxes crafted under his guidance by his students. Children from the 5th to the 8th grade would select logs that resonated with them and transform them into art, all using hand tools, marrying wood with metal through hand and heart. It breaks my heart to walk past the spoons in the foyer of our house, the ones he taught Rain to make.

Nadav, you were one of the best people ever. A man of endless generosity, volunteerism, and the understanding that the world touches the heart through the hands. The man who led every mission, and volunteered for everything, is now no longer with us. We dearly love you, dear man. You once asked me to show you how I carve spoons in a style different from yours. I’m sorry, my friend, I didn’t manage to. I always thought there was still time.

12:51 AM

Yael Eliya writes:
“The heart refuses to believe and cannot digest the bitter news. Eitan was murdered by terrorists in a fierce battle at Be’eri’s clinic. He fought heroically for hours alongside his friends from the kibbutz’s standby team against hundreds of terrorists.

They were trying to save the home he cherished so deeply. The pain of your departure is unbearable, and I cannot come to terms with it.

Eitan Haddad, a hero of Israel in life and death, from Kibbutz Be’eri.”

12:54 AM

Kiryat Sharet Holon High School is grappling with an unimaginably heavy loss: eight of its graduates were tragically taken on that fateful day.

🖤 Lt. Col. Sahar Zion Mahlouf – fell in the Gaza Division 🖤 Amit Levy – murdered at the slaughter party 🖤 Ariel Bitton – murdered at the slaughter party 🖤 Uri Arad – murdered at the slaughter party 🖤 Shani Ben Ami – murdered at the slaughter party 🖤 Ofek Aton – murdered at the massacre party 🖤 Shahar Gindi – murdered at the slaughter party 🖤 Daniel Scheinkerman – murdered at the slaughter party.

Additionally, there are two abductees, also alumni of the school: Shagiv Ben Zvi Berger Lake
And there is one missing, also a graduate of the school: Roni Petrovsky.

The teacher Esti Nihamad mourns the murdered:
“In what world does a school have to bury its students???????????? Our beloved graduates, this was not how it was supposed to be! My heart, and all of ours, has shattered too many times in the last week. We grieve and ache for who you were and, more poignantly, for who you will no longer become😔 Each of you was a whole world in themselves!”

12:59 AM

A video was released by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the X network.
While it doesn’t show gunfire or blood, it does display a burned body.
Please decide for yourself if you wish to view it or not.

A graphic image displaying the words "HAMAS" and "ISIS" with shared letters, symbolizing the association between the two terror groups.

01:27 AM

As I reflect on how to conclude this dreadful day, I find myself without any special insights. The situation is grim and likely to remain so for some time. Yet, we must find a way to move forward. I thank you again for being here and encourage you to continue sharing the materials I send; it’s important. May we see better days ahead.

In memory of Nevo Arad, who was 25 years old when he tragically lost his life at the hands of Hamas.
